Tiny shrines

The gods demand straws!

These tiny shrines are everywhere. Most are surrounded by glasses and bottles filled with colored water. It seems the gods have trouble with bottles though, since all of the bottles have straws, often of the bendy variety. Those shrines that are mounted on poles have small ladders to the ground. I assume this makes it easier for the gods to get down?
