I now have permission to use the center phone lines for internet in the lab. I'll still need to pay for the dialup ISP charges, but I can deal with that, and Jenn will split it with me.
Of course just because I have pemission doesn't mean that its technically possible to use the lines. The first problem, but by no means the biggest, is that I don't have an access code for the phone system. I've been promised one though, so that's not a big deal. The big deal is that our center has a N$93,000 outstanding phone bill. That's about $15,000 USD. Yeah. Telecom has cut outgoing phone calls untils its paid, which is causing a lot more problems around here than my lack of internet.
